Eastern Junior A Hockey team joins Maksymum

Maksymum Hockey LLC, is pleased to announced the Syracuse Stars Junior A Hockey Team will be joining the Maksymum Hockey family. The Stars compete in the Eastern Junior Hockey League.  The Stars were formed twenty years ago by current owner, coach and general manger, Don Kirnan.

The Stars are a premium Junior A franchise with a track record of placing players into quality college programs and, for some, the professional hockey ranks. “Having this team join our world class training company will only enhance an already strong hockey program.” comments Dave Maksymiu, a partner at Maksymum Hockey along with his brother Tony and Jeff Kolcon.

The Eastern Junior Hockey league ranks as one of the best development leagues for future college hockey players in North America. “We are extremely happy to be a part of such a strong league and look forward to helping players fulfill their hockey dreams.” says Tony Maksymiu.

“We expect a smooth transition” states Tony. “Don Kirnan will be key to the move to Rochester, New York at the end of the 2009-2010 season. He will remain involved with the team moving forward.”

“Adding a Junior A franchise strengthens hockey and the development model locally by adding the top piece to the development pyramid.” states Tony Maksymiu. The team will utilize the Athletic Republic off ice training program, owned by Maksymum Hockey along with Dr. Paul Cialone. Athletic Republic includes a skating treadmill, high speed running treadmills, a computerized shooting lane (Rapid Shot) and state of the art training protocols. The Athletic Republic enhancement will include utilizing proprietary software designed to merge athletic performance with nutrition, recovery and mental focus. “The junior level players will receive training that is equivalent or better than any professional program” says Cialone.

Maksymum Hockey, a leader in hockey player development, provides clinics, camps, and private lessons to hockey players of all ages. Maksymum Hockey also owns and operates the  Maksymum Junior B hockey club that competes in the Empire Junior Hockey League. “Our Junior B team will be an important component to the Junior A team. Younger players will get exposure to the Junior A program through our current Junior B team and have the opportunity to move up” states Tony .

“World class facilities and training, a proven development model along with a great Junior A hockey franchise will lead to exciting hockey and a great experience for players and fans.” says Tony Maksymiu.

Tryouts for both the Junior A and Junior B teams will be held in April. Information will be posted at Maksymum.com.
