On Monday, January 7, 2008, a first of its kind event will take place within the youth hockey community. Members of Rochester Youth Hockey and Perinton Youth Hockey will come together to host a town hall meeting in regards to “The State of Youth Hockey” in Rochester. This forum is open to the public. Leading up to the town hall meeting at 8pm inside the DoubleTree Hotel on Jefferson Road in Henrietta, the Maksymum Hockey Radio Show will broadcast live on WYSL 1040AM from 7-8pm inside the hotel. The show’s topic for the evening will be “The State of Youth Hockey” and both the radio show and the town hall meeting will include leadership from the local, state, and national levels. The “State of Youth Hockey” Town Hall Meeting is open to anybody who is interested in learning more about local youth hockey and will be on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 1111 Jefferson Road, Rochester, NY, 14623. The Maksymum Hockey Radio Show will broadcast live from 7-8pm, and the town hall meeting will commence at 8pm. | Coming in August 2008- Goalieboard.com Bulletin Board Clinic- This clinic is designed by and intended for the members of the goalie board. Yona Fioravanti returns for his fourth year as head instructor leading his usual “all-star” cast of coaches. The clinic will cost $210 and include 11.5 hours of ice and is preliminarily scheduled for August 8th-10th. We will begin collecting registrations as soon as the dates are confirmed. |
| Goaltender summer school is a great way to prepare for the upcoming season! The ten sessions are designed to stress the fundamentals of goaltending and its progressive nature is intended to have students at their best in time for their season to start. Dry lands are included so students will be ready for those tough preseason practices. |

| Maksymum Hockey is proud to announce and welcome Bob Janosz to the Maksymum Hockey family. Bob, a former college and professional goalie, is the current assistant goalie coach for the Buffalo Sabres and the current goalie coach for the Rochester Americans. Bob has been running the Bob Janosz School of Goaltending in Buffalo for the last several years. Maksymum Hockey is excited to have someone of Bob’s experience and credentials. Bob will be the full time Director of Maksymum’s Goaltending Program. He will conduct private lessons daily and on weekends, as well as camps, clinics and all other goaltending activities. | Come support the Maksymum Junior Hockey Club by taking part in our second annual golf tournament and dinner on Saturday, September 29th, 2007, hosted at the Twin Hills Golf Course. Twin Hills, located in Spencerport, is a short, tight and challenging course renowned for its superb conditions, tricky greens, wonderful par 3s, and great finishing holes. Check-in will be at 9:30AM with a start time of 10:30AM. Cost for the tournament will be $90 per golfer or $320 per foursome. Add a cart sponsorship for only and additional $25 or sponsor a hole for an additional $100. Included with that $90 donation will be 18 Holes and a cart, dinner after the tournament and prizes. | WYH Girls U12: STATE CHAMPIONS! On Sunday, March 4, the U12 Lady Cyclones won the NYSAHA Tier II Girls championship with a 5-4 win in the 5th overtime period against the Amherst Lady Knights. The game-winning goal came at 2:09 during the 5th overtime period and was scored by Jamie Palmer. Earlier in the day the Lady Cyclones defeated the Potsdam Ice Storm 3-2 in a semi-final game that went into 6 overtimes. So, for the day, the team competed in 11 overtime periods! The Lady Cyclones went to Saranac Lake as the number 1 seed from the Western Region. They defeated the Mamaroneck Tigers 2-1 on Friday night. They went on to defeat Saranac Lake 11-0, and then beat Lake Placid 8-0 on their way to the semi-finals. The team is coached by Jeff Kolcon with assistant coaches Ned Corbett and George McConville. |
| WYH Girls 14U: STATE CHAMPIONS! One week after the Webster 12U Girls captured the 2007 New York State 12U Tier II Championship, the 14U girls captured another state title for Webster! The 2007 New York State 14U Tier II Hockey Championships were held last weekend in Lake George, NY. Eight teams qualified for the tournament, two from each region of the state. The 14U Webster Lady Cyclones, along with the Amherst Knights represented the West Section. The Cyclones opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over the Postdam IceStorm. After a 2-0 loss to Brewster, the Cyclones defeated the Rome Grizzlies 4-0 and advanced to the semi-final round. The Cyclones won again, defeating the Troy-Albany Ice Cats 3-0 and moved into the finals. In the championship game, the Cyclones faced the Rome Grizzlies once again. The Cyclones took the lead early in the first period on a goal by Angelika Weslowski, with assists from Megan Hardy and Jessica Blind. In the second period, Shauna Pugliese put the puck in the net off of assists from Weslowski and Haley Peets. In the third, Pugliese found the net again (with an assist from Blind). Kaitlyn Shelly scored with assists from Katie Corbett and Victoria Benson. Goalie Michaela Thompson producing a total of 4 shutouts in the state tournament, and saved all but 2 shots over the 5 games. |
